Soeman HS Library that located on one of the major street Jenderal Sudirman no. 462 Pekanbaru Riau is nominated as the Biggest and the Best Library between the entire library of Asia Continent. The library that was officially open on 28 October 2018 really become the Landmark of Pekanbaru City especially because of the strategic location beside the Riau Province Governor’s office.

The name ‘Soeman HS’ itself inspired by the name of a writer from Riau Soeman Hasibuan. He born on 4 April 1904 in Bengkalis, Riau and died on 8 Mei 1999 in Pekanbaru, Riau.

This library is not only look gorgeous outside, the facilities inside are remarkable for a library. The facilities consist of :Children Library, Bilik Melayu, Soundproof Room for discussion, Film Screening Room, Internet Room, Auditorium, Islamic Prayer Room and also a Café that has many delicious foods.

With a collection of about hundred thousand of books and a good facilities, no wonder that this gorgeous library has about 500-1000 visitors a day. By the time you enter this library you can see many student and people are using this place to do a discussion. You can also see many children and their parents in the Children Library area. This library has six floors in total and in each floor we can see many chairs, tables, and bookshelves.

Don’t worry if you are having a hard time to finding books in library. Soeman HS Library has a facility called ‘OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)’, an online computer to find the books you need just by typing the title of the books or the author of the books you will get a bookshelves’ code that will make you know the location of the books you are looking for. Also don’t worry if you are lazy to walk to the upper floors, this library provides a elevator for you.

Soeman HS Library is open on Monday – Friday from 08.00 AM to 04.00 PM and on Saturday–Sunday from 09.00 AM to 02.00 PM , so this library is open everyday.
